"There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education.

The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning."

Jiddu Krishnamurti

WORKSHOPS

Equipping students with skills that are relevant for inquiry-based work, is essential in guiding them towards success.  The following workshops are recommended prior to beginning The Passion Project.

Academic Honesty

Bob Carignan

While it is just fine to "steal like an artist", Bob will share with the students the importance of acknowledging the work of others from whom our inspiration has come in his workshop on academic honesty.

Tech Tools

Matthew Miller

Our technical guru, Mr. Miller will be sharpening our tech tools during this workshop.  He will be helping us to learn more about what it means to be a Google Ninja (among other things!).

Throughout The Passion Project, Mr. Miller will be on hand to help us with any technical issues we might encounter.

Organization and Balance

James Hamilton

As elementary principal, Mr. Hamilton knows a thing or two about being organized and managing your time!

He is going to help us figure out where we can improve and how we can ensure we have balance in our lives during the Exhibition process.

Aesthetics and Branding

Jay Nelson

Mr. Jay is the elementary art teacher.  He will be discussing the power of aesthetics and how to brand your work to match your message in a way that adds to your presentation and is visually appealing.

Presentation Skills

Marty Baird

Marty will be sharing about the art of presentation.  He will help us figure out how to share our message in a way that leaves our audience wanting more.

For many of us, this will be our first time presenting in front of a large audience. Marty will help us confidently present what we want to say, how we want to say it.

Central Ideas/Lines of Inquiry

Kari Boazman

Part of the Exhibition involves developing a central idea that will guide your inquiry.  In addition, you will choose lines of inquiry that stem from conceptual questions.

Sound difficult?  Well, it is!  But luckily, we have our PYP Coordinator, Mrs. Boazman on board to help us!
