What is The Passion Project?  What can you expect to see during The Passion Project?

For a detailed description of The Passion Project, check out our ABOUT page.

If you were to be a 'fly on the wall' at Riverstone during The Passion Project, here is what you would see:

  • students meeting with their mentors around the school to discuss their progress
  • collaborative art projects by groups of students with similar passions
  • students interviewing authors, publishers, athletes, artists, scientists...
  • one-on-one, small group and whole class workshops on a variety of topics
  • students reflecting on their work via video
  • students organizing their work via binders, Evernote or other means that works best for them
  • teachers observing, discussing, mentoring, supporting and encouraging
  • the creation of books, movies, podcasts, drawings, sketches, models and crafts
  • talking!  Lots and lots of talking!
  • students guided through the process of organizing themselves
  • students 'missing' from class as they connect with the community to explore their passions
  • passion burning brightly in many different forms
